Richard Wallace - Winning Ways

Winning Ways - Solihull

Richard Wallace co-founded Winning Ways Education with fellow salon owner Chris Amos in 2009, having previously presented courses for other organizations. He felt it was time to help salons understand what’s needed today for continued success in the future. He has presented 'How to make your Salon More Profitable' and 'How to deliver a consistently great client experience' for the NHBF for the last three years, as well as working with Wella, L’Oreal, H.O.E.T Training, Wolverhampton College, and with a select group of salons personally.

Richard has been in hairdressing for over 30 years, a salon owner for 25 years, and still has a salon and column today. He teaches and coaches salon owners on what he does on a day-to-day basis, which is running a single salon in a small shopping centre turning over £1.2 million. He has qualifications in life coaching, business coaching and NLP communications, plus a real passion for understanding and managing Millennials.

We attended our first course with Winning Ways about 6 years ago and have attended many more since. Our business wasn’t exactly failing but we constantly felt we were lacking a formula for not only operational issues but also financial strategies. Talk about a light bulb moment! Chris and Richard had both been down the same path and found the solutions themselves and most importantly they were more than willing to share. 6 years on and we have learned so much, developed a more secure business with a realistic eye to the future and developed ourselves as leaders as well. We have implemented many of the systems Chris and Richard have taught us and THEY WORK. The courses we attend are relaxed, informative, with a bit of fun thrown in as well. It’s just so refreshing to be able to share a concern with someone who really gets it and wants to help.

Today, although not yet perfect, we now have a motivated team who know how to progress as individuals and what is expected of them in their role. Our finances are healthy and we continue to grow. Could we have done it alone? Very unlikely!
