New Harmonised Professional Testing Protocol Announced
A new harmonised professional skin testing protocol has been announced by leading industry bodies and associations.
These respected organisations have collaborated to harmonise the changes announced by Cosmetics Europe in early 2023 with existing industry best practices. This new protocol defines a clear benchmark that all hair professionals, insurers and hair colour brands can now meet to confidently support and promote the safe use of professional hair colour services in the UK.
GDP rise as fears of recession looms
UK economists are warning that the country may have entered a technical recession towards the end of last year. Although the UK's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose by 0.3% in November as compared to the previous month, it fell by 0.2% in the three months preceding November. If there is a further decline in the fourth quarter, it would indicate that the UK is in a technical recession.

The Government is asking all small business owners to give feedback on their experience of GOV.UK, as part of the project to redesign and improve the site. Feedback will involve the completion of a brief survey on the usability of the Government website, and participants may be asked to take part in further voluntary research or to test new GOV.UK products. The Government is keen to hear from a broad range of businesses, and participants must be 18 or older.
